Our experience of building transport models, as well as commissioning them from other people, leaves us uniquely placed to deliver a service as specialist technical adviser working with client and modellers to provide a thorough objective audit and review, to ensure the most effective results from your development work.
We provide a range of packages from hand-holding during the analysis of results, to the full technical client package, to an à la carte selection:
- Validation, audit and review
- Quality Assurance for modelling processes used by large or controversial schemes which may be challenged in by appeal, judicial review or public inquiry. We carry out a thorough cross-examination of models and modellers, and provide a detailed breakdown of the model's strengths and weaknesses, points of possible challenge, and appropriate rebuttal defences.
- Gap Analysis
- Establish what the requirements of the models are, within a team or across an organisation, and identify where these needs are not currently being met adequately, and provide outline guidance on how these gaps can be filled efficiently and effectively.
- Advice during tendering
- Specifying deliverables, selecting companies to invite to tender; advice and support on assessing the tenders and awarding the contract, and negotiating intellectual property.
- Project Management
- keeping suppliers on course and on budget; monitoring the use of data and the calibration process; ensuring meaningful, usable intermediate deliverables are made; and making sure the documentation gets done.
- Analysis of Results
- turning data into information - turning model outputs into a form suitable for informing policy-makers and decision-makers.
Experience List
London Analytics' director, Andrew Smith, has ten years experience of building, calibrating and validating transport and environmental models, including:
- Modelling, forecasting, and comparative assessment of national transport strategy options for the Dutch government.
- Running the TDfL / TfL Environmental Emissions Modelling System - [EEMS]
